What’s the difference between the two girls pictured above? Well, the little girl on the left, seven year old Yang Peiyi, sang a rendition of “Ode to the Motherland” to be performed at the opening ceremony of the Olympics. The little girl on the ... Continue reading »

  • Only 852 reasons? I don't think you're trying hard enough.
  • Really terrible. I am having to fight myself not to judge because it makes me feel racist, but there are so many things that are popping up that are so wrong, it's hard to control how you feel about them. But it's true, China has a lot to be ashamed about.
  • I'm absolutely incensed by this. Yang Peiyi looks adorable. She looks like a kid. Lin Miaoke looks superficial (sorry, kid). I just get this pageant / Paris Hilton vibe from her - always acting cutesy. Gag me.

Now, they've not only embarrassed Yang, but Lin as well - as the kid who couldn't sing but looks good.
  • This is a disgrace, i could tell Lin was lip syncing but i though it was her voice. I'm quite disgusted that this happened, Yang looks fine to me.
  • Just a classic example how one fails to see the beauty in everything and everyone...
  • This is very disgrace and I think the girl who really sang is very cute.
  • Unbelievable. Somehow I am not surprised, though I am definitely disappointed. Thank you for sharing this heart-breaking but important story.
  • gawd, that is really bad. Think of what this does for the poor girls self-esteem
  • Isn't this taking the Oriental term "saving face" a little too far (lolz)? I live in a country where the rich are mostly chinese yet they still insist being called a half "native"...
  • Wow. I had no idea the girl on the right was lip syncing for the girl on the left during the Olympics.
  • This is just life. No big deal.
  • lol, I take it that you disagree with China's decision. Come on, China is doing some pretty bad crap in the world and this is such a small issue. I've seen more press on this little girl getting pushed to the back then I have on China buying oil from Darfur, helping to fund the genocide while we (Americans) watch people get slaughtered.
  • as if china wasn't making enough people mad at them in the olympics, this just adds to the fire.
  • i think china not to be ashamed for him self. they are powerful. look at that girl, really cute and nice look. sometimes we can't see outside, we need to see inside. sometimes people dislike another people (another RACE), that why they said they are bad etc.
  • That's the cruel side of humanity which clearly shows the imbalance of our thoughts. At least I was not expecting that in such big event. GOD helps us.
  • That is a rude thing and I am really very distracted and disappointing from all that.
