1. The bill did not support troops after the Vietnam era bill expired thru the present. It only addressed the post 9/11 troops.
2. McCain did not think the bill went far enough, nor did it address issues of retention or transferability to other family members.
3. McCain does support veterans. Just do the digging on his voting record.
4. No – the current GI Bill is not the same one that started post WWII. There have been a several different changes since that in particular addressed education benefits. Facts not opinion - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gi_bill
