Menstrual Poetry: Ellen is Getting Married!

But how exactly is 'the married life' any different to committed, cohabiting life? :o/ I, like most people I know in the queer community, would be loath to marry because in doing so I would be supporting an archaic, heterosexist and classist institution.

Because they love each other, and that supersedes pride. Also queers should know that being queer is also archaic as well. You might like to think it is something new and interesting, however it has been going on for a very long time in all cultures. Also, if gays look down to other gays who get married... I think perhaps they need to stop watching so much TV and put the tabloids down, reassess their own life and values and get the heck over themselves.
